Contact your treating team first and describe what you have noticed and when it started. If the team cannot be reached, call the hospital main line. For a red-flag symptom — increasing pain, spreading redness, a fever, pus, or a wound that has opened — go to the nearest emergency department rather than waiting for a reply. Arranging an assessment

Scars and healing wounds are assessed in the outpatient clinic of the Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about a scar so that the right clinic time is booked.

What to bring

Bring the date and type of your operation, the name of the team that performed it, and any aftercare instructions you were given. Bring a list of your medication, and say if you have any condition that affects healing or scarring. Photographs taken over time are useful, because they show the direction the scar is moving in rather than how it looks today.

What the assessment covers

The wound history, the stage of maturation, the site and the tension across the scar, whether it has stayed within the original wound, and whether it restricts movement. Standardised photographs are taken so that change can be judged objectively at the next visit. You should leave with clear answers: whether anything needs to be done now, what the scar is likely to do next, and when it should be reviewed.

Fees, records and privacy

This site does not quote prices, because the plan depends on the assessment and is discussed directly at consultation. Clinical photographs are taken for planning and follow-up, and are not published or used for teaching without a separate consent you are free to refuse.
